
Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Jeong Hwan
Park is a bassist, composer, and educator based in New York City. Since he moved to New York City to attend New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2011, Jeong has been performing and recording extensively with many talented young musicians in New York City as well as some of notable legendary jazz musicians such as Rich Perry, Kenny Werner, Billy Drummond, Billy Drews, and Alan Broadbent, . He has been playing at some of New York CIty’s hottest clubs including Blue Note Jazz Club, Zinc Bar, 55 Bar, Bar Next Door, Cleopatra's Needle, BonaFide, Jackson's Room, and many others.
He received Master’s degree in jazz performance from New York University in 2016. In the same year, Jeong was chosen to be sponsored a concert by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Santiago, Chile and had a successful concert with an acclaimed Korean gayageum solo artist that was intended to highlight the fusion of jazz and traditional Korean music. Jeong has also performed at Jazz festival in Ecuador in 2017 as a member of Koyari led by Ecuadorian guitarist Luis Castro, and Sebastian Acosta Quintet in 2018. In 2019, he released his debut album as a leader and producer, Sound of Bronze, a collection of original compositions and improvisations performed by amazing musicians in New York.
